Evan Lake

Description

The beautiful lake, which is located in the ring of 4 villages of Evan, Verben, Zwardasht and Zarabad and 1800 meters above sea level, shines like the Emerald Nebun. With enchanting prospects, it attracts many foreign and domestic tourists in four parts of the year. The lake, which covers more than 70000 square meters, does not directly receive water from outside and only feeds from rainwater and ever-gushing springs in the bottom of the lake. The deepest part is located at a depth of 7.5 meters in the southeast. Except seedling trees such as Bida, Chenar, Tabriz, Apple, Cherry, Cherry, Elder, hazelnut and Walnut; Herbaceous plants such as Gon, Konger and other species of Grameen and Leguminous are also found in Evan watershed.  In addition to plants like everglade and reed that grow in its vicinity, there are different plants in the lake such as phararmites australis, potamageton crispus and ceratophylum demersum. The wildlife of this basin, including types of goats and gazelle, has been significantly reduced due to uncontrolled hunting and destruction of their habitats.  Also other species like leopard, brown bear, fox, jackal, wolf, boar, black-eyed (wild cat), types of eagles, slabs, daggers, hawks, owls, woodpeckers, goats and sparrows, frog, turtles, crabs and … have been seen in this region. Different types of fishes, including trout, carp, salmon and fish ducks are living in this lake. By the area which have been covered by the Evan Lake (70 thousand square meters), it is considered as the largest lake in Qazvin city. The Ovan Lake is one of the most popular destination for tourist in Qazvin province specially in holidays and summer.
